Building an artist's life: Jolie Guillebeau

Jolie Guillebeau is a high school teacher who went back to school to pursue her dream to be an artist. Her artwork consists of paintings on plexiglass. Guillebeau describes herself as the kind of artist that won't create a huge, impactful project but small projects that she will enjoy. She has created thousandths and thousandths of paintings but likes the describe them as a whole. She started off with making 1 small painting for 100 days. She wasn't content because she thought that "real" artists work outside so with that she made 100 paintings of landscapes. After that, she made 100 portraits. She was determined on making anything everyday, no matter how small it was. She describes her work as small but collectively its something big. The main point of this talk to is to emphasize on the importance of creating anything no matter how small it is because it can always lead to something way bigger. I can relate to that because I tend to give up on small ideas even though they can eventually turn into something big.

"Small things repeated over time build into something bigger"-Jolie Guillebeau

"Don't be afraid of making something bad, be afraid of making nothing at all"- Jolie Guillebeau
