Assignment #1- Proof of existence
For this image I wanted it to look very detailed, almost paint-like so in order to get it very detailed I used a faster shutter speed. I wanted the focus to be on the apple but I added the paper towel to add more positive space and texture.That is also why I decided to place it on a white background. Value was important because I wanted to show where the light source was coming from. I wanted to shadows and highlights to be visible. For the composition, I didn't want the apple to be centered because it looked more appealing off-centered.
For the composition, I had to think "What angle makes the picture more appealing?" I took multiple shots from different angles but some angles didn't work as well as others. For example, straight forward angles didn't look as well as off-centered angles. I incorporated using layers when it came to taking pictures of my artwork and also thought about the framing. I didn't want some artwork to be completely in the frame. If I could have done something differently, I wouldn't have put so much focus on the closer painting. I didn't mean to have a main focus in the image. I tried adding leading lines by tilting painting.
